Kathryn's SDR day 2

Kathryn is getting to move to a bed close to the window. Bigger space and better view. This will be our permanent place the rest of our stay is what we understand. So now we get to decorate. Yeah!!!

The nurse came in and told us that the doctors are wanting to start taking the continuous pain medicine away starting at 8am tomorrow morning. She will still be able to hit a button when needed, but just won't have the continuous stream. She is doing so well right now I think she will do great.

Once we can get her off the IV's then on Saturday she will get to go on her prone cart (pictures coming). With the prone cart we can take her out of the hospital room and go to activities, crafts, and the play room.

We are printing the guestbook messages, facebook messages, and other texts so we can put them up for her to have all the wonderful words of encouragement. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Kathryn did really well through the night. She wanted mommy to sleep next to her so that made interesting for mommy, but of course, we made it work. Her pain seems under control and she is now asking for popsicles at 8:00 in the morning. She can have what ever she wants in my opinion. LOL!! They come in every 2 hours or so to turn her which she doesn't care for, but is getting use to it. She is looking forward to being able to socialize with a little girl down the hall who she met during our pre-op tour.

We are watching a lot of Dora and Strawberry Shortcake videos and she thinks it is pretty cool that she can play Starfall word game on the computer. We are going to have pedicures this afternoon with yellow nail polish and have some girly time.

Alexis and Garrett visited yesterday. Alexis and Kathryn just held each others hand and kept telling each other they loved the other. Alexis made Kathryn a beaded necklace with special handpicked beads just for Kathryn. Kathryn said that Alexis must really love her for putting the big heart beads on.

The night nurse said she has been here for 9 years and Kathryn is one of the easiest rhizotomy patients she has seen in a long while. This was really nice to hear.
