Kathryn's First Full Day of Therapy

Kathryn had a full day of therapy today. She met all her therapist in the morning and started with rolling over. Her strength is gaining every day, but this afternoon she surprised the physical therapist when they gave her the option of rolling or crawling to get the shaving cream (the activity by choice) Kathryn chose to crawl. This is a huge mile stone and usually does not happen this early. The physical therapist's jaw dropped when she sat watchin​g while Kathryn carefully pulled each leg up underneath her and started crawling towards the cream. It took a little bit and when she got there her little legs were shaking with exhaustion, but SHE DID IT!!

She is excited to be able to sit up which will come in the next couple of days. Once able to sit up she is able to use the wheel chair for mobility. ​Kathryn and her new friend Rylee are looking forward to chasing Garrett in their wheelchairs in the courtyard outside of the hospital. The two girls just giggle with excitement when we talk about it.

The mood changed today. Kathryn gets out of her room for most of the day and when she is in her room she sleeps most of the time from all the work she puts in during therapy. She misses her brother and sister a lot, but is in much better spirits than in days past
